UNSANE – live at Trillians, Newcastle upon Tyne 6/7/12

July 8, 2012

Arrived at this gig to find things kicked off much earlier than expected… unfortunately missing TIDE OF IRON and only catching the tail end of BIG BUSINESS. I love KARP of course but never had much interest for BB but nevertheless it sounded cool & was really loud. UNSANE notched it up from ‘really loud’ to truly decimating volume levels, blew my hearing out the likes of which I’ve not experienced in a few years. Dave Curran was playing bass through an 8×10″ cab which was just demolishing when he hit power chords. The recording was made at his side of the stage (bass sound/playing is my favourite part of this band), so the guitar is quieter but the vocals/drums can be heard clearly. The mix evens out about 10 minutes in and it’s a great set of material mainly from their last two albums. The final song played is a cover of FLIPPER’s ‘Ha ha ha’. If you ever get the opportunity to see this band do not pass it up, they do not disappoint. Click picture for audio…
